Trying something new…

Happy Friday everybody and welcome to Lift’s first blog post of 2020! It’s been amazing, and more importantly, kept me sane, to see and chat with the many of you continuing your training with daily Zoom classes! Like many businesses, we’ve had to adapt our service, but it’s due to our clients, who have been adapting alongside of us, that we’ve had any measure of success. If you haven’t tried one of our Zoom classes yet, please check out our schedule and join in!

This time is a great opportunity for positivity, growth, and for setting and achieving new goals. These goals will take on a different shape for each of us. For some of us, new goals will focus on strength, endurance, or mobility, whereas for others the focus may be on increasing energy levels or improving overall mental health.

Personally, I’ve been cycling my goals every couple of weeks to stay interested. Right now, I’m really focusing in on the nuances of my diet. For two weeks, I’m examining my eating window, breaking down my macros, and trying to see what makes me feel like I’m running on optimal fuel. It’s been tough, but I’m nearly one week in and I’m really enjoying the process!

In addition to this blog, we plan to launch a few new ideas in the coming weeks! Keep an eye out for news about new courses starting back up in June and for information about one on one consultations beginning next week.

Thanks again for all the support and I look forward to seeing most of you in our next Zoom class!

Directions:

  1. Put the coriander (stalks and all) into the food processor with the chili (stalk removed), peeled garlic, cashew butter, and coconut aminos.

  2. Peel and add the roughly chopped the ginger.

  3. Finely grate in the zest of both limes and add in the juice from one of them.

  4. Add a couple of splashes of water and mix into a spoon-able paste. Season to taste.

  5. I served this with roast chicken and it was amazing!

My Favorite Podcast this week: The Prymal Podcast with Eoin Lacey: Eat, Sleep, Train & Plan for Better Health - #01.

The Prymal Podcast began this year and they already have some amazing episodes available to listen to on Spotify or other podcast platforms. A quote from their bio pretty much sums up why I like them so much:

“Prymal Podcast explores the world of health, nutrition, performance, business, life and success… optimize your body, solve your problems, experience the world and take control of your life.”

What’s not to like?!

Eoin Lacey, from the Irish Strength Institute, is a long time mentor of mine. In this episode he talks about setting goals and shaping your life by making good decisions and having a conscious mindset. That’s what we’re all about at Lift - be the driver of your life, not a passenger.

We know it can be overwhelming to take the wheel for the first time and that’s why we’re here to help! Make sure to take advantage of our resources and during this bizarre time of being at home, never hesitate to reach out for a quick chat or check-in.

If you’re interested in a

free 20-minute initial consultation

fill in the form here and I’ll get in touch with you on Monday, the 18th, to set up an appointment slot during the week.

In this meeting, we’ll check-in on your day to day health and we’ll set up a plan that’s specifically suited to you. On Monday, I’ll be publishing a price tree for different plans and packages (i.e. once off prices vs. bundle prices), but never let this be a barrier to your health. If you’re recently out of a job or you’re living from paycheck to paycheck, we’ll figure out a plan that suits you.

Let us help you, help you.
